Thanks for all the kind comments. It really made me want to continue
The Ever Popular Staff Christmas Parties
Chapter: Two.
Pairing: Mirandy, of course.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything.
Rating: PG-13, so far.
Summary: Andy attends the Runway staff Christmas party.
How the hell was she supposed to answer that? If she said no, Miranda would most likely fire her. If she said yes, Miranda would most likely fire her. Andy snapped her gaze towards Emily, narrowing her eyes considerably, “I didn’t answer.”
Miranda arched a slender brow, looking back towards her first assistant. She could easily find out whether Andy was lying or not, and from the way Emily was nodding incessantly it was obvious that the brunette hadn’t given her most honest answer.
“Don’t make me ask you again, Andrea.”
Andy inwardly groaned. Why couldn’t the world just open up and cause her to tumble to her death? Anything would be better than this.
“Fine,” She mumbled quietly, lifting her drink to her lips. “I said that I would...” She risked a glance at the editor, and when her eyebrows arched in surprise, Andy quickly added: “not. I would not sleep with you.”
Miranda straightened her back and cleared her throat. Her expression was unreadable, but before Emily or Andy could decipher it, Miranda was spinning on her heel and weaving into the crowd. Andy relaxed whilst Emily waved over the bartender, shouting for more tequila.

The heat was really beginning to get to her.
Andy stumbled through the large crowd until she slipped inside the women’s bathroom. Fortunately, there was nobody beside the sinks but a quick glance towards the toilet cubicles confirmed that there was one in use.
She turned on the faucet and ran her hands underneath the freezing cold water.
It made her skin prickle but that didn’t stop her from crouching down and splashing water against her cheeks.
The cool liquid was definitely refreshing against her skin.
Andy sighed, straightened her back and stared blankly into the mirror in front of her.
She didn’t know what was going to happen about Miranda. Would she wait until Monday before sending her and Emily packing? Or just her? She was the one who said no after all, but Emily was the one who’d asked. Andy groaned loudly, running her fingers through her hair in frustration. Miranda Priestly was so fucking annoying.
The sound of the cubicle unlocking behind her caused Andy to spin around, gasping when she came face to face with the one woman she didn’t really want to see.
Miranda paused in her step; she too was obviously surprised to see Andy stood there. It didn’t take long for her to straighten her back, purse her lips and brush past Andy to reach the sink. The brunette stumbled to one side, not wanting to piss her boss of anymore than she’d already done.
“Are you just going to stand there and gawp, Andrea?”
Andy felt her blood run cold and the colour fall from her cheeks.
“I mean, seriously. Anybody would think that you want me. That apparently isn’t the case though, is it?” She tilted her chin north, regarding her second assistant for a second before promptly exiting the bathroom.
Leaving Andy stood, shell-shocked, unable to believe what she’d just heard Miranda say.

An hour of drinking later and Andy was fumbling to open the taxi door that she’d ordered.
Several seconds later (and after a very colourful rant) the door swung open. She was just about to slip inside when she felt a familiar grip on her shoulder. Andy instinctively yanked her arm away, shielding herself from a possible “attacker”. She was surprised to find Miranda stood on the pavement, her eyebrows arched in surprise.
“Do you often react that way to people giving you assistance?”
Andy scowled, “Assistance?”
“You’re falling around like some alcoholic bum. I thought I’d at least help you get into the cab,” Miranda eyed up the disgusting looking driver with distaste, “even if I don’t approve of you travelling in this filthy thing.”
What could really happen, seriously?
She fought the urge to roll her eyes, staring aimlessly up at her boss. Was she going to say that’s all anytime soon or was she going to be made to stand out on the sidewalk?
“I hope you won’t be suffering from this-” She waved her hand up and down Andy’s figure, “stupidity on Monday morning.”
Probably, along with Emily too, she could definitely see that being fun.
Andy shrugged slightly, not sure what to say in response. She couldn’t really guarantee anything when she was pretty sure that she’d still be feeling the effects of the alcohol come Monday morning. No amount of makeup or painkillers could hide the signs of a hangover.
“Hey miss, you getting in anytime soon?” The gruff taxi driver asked, half hanging out the window. “It’s costing ya here.”
Miranda’s lips curled upwards, revealing perfect white teeth. She was about to say something rude and unforgivable but Andy was quick to jump in.
“I’m sorry, yeah; I’ve got to go Miranda.”
She glanced between the car and Miranda one last time before sliding into the back seat, slamming the door closed behind her. Through the dirty windows, she watched Miranda until the traffic behind obstructed her view.
Would she really say no?
Andy squirmed uncomfortably, biting down on her lower lip.
No, she didn’t think so.

By the time she made it to her apartment and emptied the contents of her handbag onto her bed, it was past one in the morning.
Her phone was flashing brightly but before Andy could grab it, the light cut out and the slight vibrations came to a stop. Damn –missed call.
She flipped the device open and looked down at the screen through blurry eyes. Miranda? Andy contemplated ringing her back but thought better of it. She tossed the phone to one side and forgot all about it.
When she returned half an hour later, washed and changed, she collapsed on her bed in a heap, blindly reaching to her side for the phone.
One missed call and one new message.
She checked who the missed call was from first: Miranda.
She was also surprised to find out that the text was from her too.
‘No?’
Andy swallowed the lump that had suddenly formed in her throat, not knowing whether she should text back or not. Apparently her mind wasn’t connected to her fingers and before she knew it, she was typing out a message and hitting send.
‘I lied.’
She received a response in record speed.
‘Good.’
Her heart thumped wildly in her chest. Miranda Priestly liked the idea? Wait- there had to be a catch. Andy stared down at her phone, chewing nervously on her bottom lip. Miranda had to be pleased just because she didn’t like the idea of somebody resisting her, surely. Andy scoffed, throwing the phone onto her nightstand.
It was time to sleep, not fuss over a random and pointless text message.
Just as she was starting to drift off to sleep, there was a loud and impatient knock on the door. Andy shot out of bed, reaching wildly for her robe. Who the hell was coming over at this time? She nervously tiptoed through her apartment until she reached the door. One glance through the peephole nearly made her throw up from nerves.
Miranda?
Andy hurriedly unlocked the door and swung it open.
“I knew you were lying.”
She pushed inside, coming so close that their noses were almost touching. Andy could feel the slight pants coming from the editors’ lips. It almost made her knees give out.
“What are you doing?” Andy squeaked, eyes wide.
“You can be so stupid at times, Andrea. What does it look like I’m doing?”
Andy swallowed thickly, peering up at her boss from under thick lashes. If it wasn’t for those damn heels then she would have the higher position.
“Are you- are you going to kiss me, Mir-Miranda?”
Miranda hates stuttering.
It seems though; she didn’t really care at this point because she was too focused on Andy’s lips. She subconsciously licked her own, making it hard for Andy to keep quiet.
And then she did it.
Their lips met in a brief, almost clumsy kiss, but it was enough to make Andy groan loudly and slip an arm around the editors’ neck.
Miranda smirked.
